Description
The carbon hardback is a high quality carbon steel blade that not only has heat treated teeth but also has a heat treated back of blade. The heat treated backer material helps the band saw blade cut straighter because it has a higher tensile strength. One step above a carbon Flexback saw blade, the carbon Hardback blade is a low cost alternative band saw blade used on easy to cut material. Carbon hardback band saw blades have an excellent fatigue factor to give long saw blade life on band saws running at high speed.
- Used on most major brands of band saws
- Ideal for cutting non-ferrous metal and wood
- Low cost carbon steel blade
- Long lasting
There are a great variety of saw blade widths, thicknesses, and tooth shapes to suit any band sawing purpose. The two most popular saw blade tooth patterns are the hook tooth (H), and the raker tooth (R). The hook tooth band saw blades have a 10 degree positive rake angle for fast cutting of non-ferrous metals and wood cutting. The raker tooth is a conventional saw blade tooth used for general purpose band sawing.
There are many types of band saws that can use Hardback saw blades including Jet, Wilton, Kalamazoo, Grizzly, Dake, Doall, Hyd-Mech, Powermatic, Tannewitz and many others. Any light to medium duty vertical band saw or horizontal band saw typically run carbon bandsaw blades.
