Blade Bouncing | Detroit Band Saw

Blade Bouncing

Problem

Solution

Crooked welds The blade ends should not be mismatched at the weld.  The blades should also be welded straight to .015” hollow on the cutting edge using an 18” long straight edge as reference
Too many teeth in the cut Use a coarser pitch.  This avoids the gullets filling up and the head bouncing
Missing teeth Replace Blade
Feed pressure too light, preventing the teeth from penetrating the work properly Increase the feed pressure or decrease the blade speed to increase tooth pattern
